Basic Leadership Training Course |
One of the most important services CSB provides to local churches is the Training of leaders. We offer a Basic course for new leaders, and approximately twenty advanced courses on a variety of topics for existing leaders to help them be more effective leaders and servants of Christ. The purpose is to equip them to "Win and train boys for Christ". Following is a brief description of the various courses.
The CSB Co-ordinator in your church can arrange for one or more of these course to be conducted in your church by contacting your Regional Director
EVERY leader working in a local Brigade group should have completed the Basic Leadership Training Program. Once the individual has completed the training program he should complete an application form indicating his agreement with the Brigade Standard of Faith. As Brigade is a part of the ministry of a local church, the leader should be expected to indicate his agreement with any requirements of the local church has of its leaders. CSB Canada expects the local church to ensure that CSB leaders are born again Christian men, and they are in agreement the CSB Standard of Faith. In addition, CSB Canada recommends that the local church require its leaders to meet standards of an exemplary life as clean vessels, fit for the Master's use.
The application form should be submitted to the Regional Director, who will arrange for
a Basic Leadership Certificate to be issued, indicating that the leader
has completed the Basic course.
 |
A three hour course covering the basics of CSB focus, ministry, and program operations. The student will be given the core elements of why we do the ministry we carry
out, how to set and reach program goals, and the nuts and bolts of running a weekly
meeting. Course materials can be ordered from CSB Headquarters or by contacting your Regional Director. THIS COURSE IS
REQUIRED FOR ALL FIRST YEAR CSB LEADERS.

Advanced
Leadership Training Courses
We have aproximately twenty courses, primarily for Brigade Leaders, in local churches. These advanced Leadership Training Courses are usually taught by our staff, but may be taught in local churches by local leaders. Many of the courses are also of benefit to Sunday school teachers, pastors, youth workers, girl program leaders, as well as others workers in local churches.
Each of these courses is intended to last for three hours. This permits one of the courses to be completed in an evening.
These courses may be taken in any sequence. Each course stands on its own. There are no pre- requisites, except that leaders taking the courses for credit from CSB must have completed the Basic Leadership Training program.
They can be offered as adult electives in a Sunday school where the students could go through 2 or 3 courses in a quarter. Another option would be to offer them as a professional development evening, where all leaders in a local could take the course together so they can be more effective with their boys in the weekly meetings.Contact your Regional Director to arrange a training session at your church
Courses in the one hundred series are considered to be more directly related to equipping leaders to work in the weekly meetings of the various Brigade programs. Those in the two hundred series are of more general interest areas.
A small certificate which is given to each person who attends each course. For every six courses completed, an individual leader may apply to the Regional Director to receive a certificate and a uniforn award from CSB Canada.
